Christmas Stroll

We enjoyed some unseasonable warm weather this year at the Christmas Stroll in Georgetown.  Even though it was 80 degrees and Ian wore shorts, it was a great event to start the Christmas season.
Fun on the barrel train.
Hugs for Frosty.  Ian has no fear of people dressed up in crazy costumes.
There was a Whoville complete with several Grinches.

Future EMT?  Ian had such fun looking inside all the cabinets that held medical supplies on the ambulance.
Petting a lamb at the entrance of Bethlehem Village.
Sweet donkey.  There was even a rooster that Ian got to pet!
Telling Granddad all about the stable where Jesus was born.
Silly boy. :)
This is a true to life picture.  Ian is so curious all the time and wants to make sure he doesn't miss anything.  Forget about all the Christmas things going on around him, he wanted to look inside a window to the old courthouse "because there are stairs inside.  I wonder where they go?"  Love that boy so much!!

Trying to hula hoop.  So entertaining to watch him and his funny moves!

Decorating

Ian was so very excited to help decorate the Christmas tree this year.  He insisted on unwrapping all of the ornaments and spreading them out so he could see all of his choices, before selecting the perfect spot for each one (Mommy had to do a little rearranging to balance it out when his eyes weren't looking).  Ian made sure to wear his Christmas jammies the night before so he would be fully in the Christmas spirit.

Carefully examining each ornament.

Halloween

This year we had MomMom and DadDad here to trick-or-treat with us!  The weather was perfect, and Ian had a great time "scaring" everyone that opened the door.  It was a fun evening to share with people we love.
I'm not sure where he learned the Staying Alive pose, but it frequently pops up in our daily life.

Scaring our neighbor.

This house was decorated scarier than this skeleton liked, so MomMom helped him be brave and check it out.

Looking through his loot.

Pumpkin Carving

Ian was very excited about carving our pumpkin this year, and said he was going to be brave to pull out the seeds inside.  He was definitely more brave than last year, but the stringy, gooey texture is not one that he cares for.  He told me exactly what kind of shapes he wanted on the pumpkin, but was disappointed that he couldn't help me use the knife...Mommy can be so unreasonable at times!

Rolling his sleeves up for the task at hand.
His facial expressions are priceless!!

After a few handfuls of pumpkin and seeds, he was ready for a break and some baseball while Mommy finished up.
Deciding which piece of candy to enjoy...tough decision when it's all so tasty!

Trunk or Treat

We got invited to a trunk-or-treat this year, and had a fun time with our friends.  Ian wanted to be "skeleton bones" since we started talking about Halloween this year, and we were able to find the perfect costume early on.  We also found a fireman costume, but Ian insisted that he wanted to be scary this year.
Bethany as Fifi the poodle, and Ian in his skeleton bones.

Closely observing the scene at each car.
"Mommy, what did that man do to get put in jail?  I think he didn't follow the rules."  I guess he is listening when we talk about breaking the rules... :)
Reaching in for some candy from Glinda the Good Witch.

Thumbs up for the corn dog.
Striking a pose.
