Easter

I had to work on Easter this year, but, when I got home, we had an egg hunt.  Ian was already bathed and dressed in jammies, but that didn't slow him down from finding all the eggs and eating some candy!

Little Builder

Ian's new swing set came in 2 giant boxes, and, once opened, the wood covered my entire garage floor. It was a big project, but we were thankful for help from Granddad and Uncle in putting it all together.  Ian had fun helping with the construction, and, once the swing beam was installed, stepped back and said "Oohhh, it's really a swing set!"  Love that boy!

Birthday Celebration

We did a small, family party for Ian this year, and it was so nice!!  Ian has a minor obsession with Hot Wheels cars right now, and he decided he wanted a race track cake (complete with a few new cars).  After enjoying some cake and opening presents, we headed to Chuck E. Cheese for a crazy fun evening!

Doing a victory dance after making a basket.

Playing pinball with Granddad.
This boat racing game was Ian's absolute favorite, and we were impressed by how good he was.  One token lasted him for quite a while since he kept winning!  Such concentration on his face. :)

First Game

The night before Ian's first tee ball game, a cold front blew through making the game a cold, slightly rainy, and windy one.  Even though the conditions were not ideal, the Dragons (Ian suggested this for their team name and it got chosen by his teammates!) played hard and did an awesome job.  It's hard to put into words how excited Ian was about his first game!!
Walking onto the field to warm up.

Sheer joy!

The Dragons

Ready to shake hands with the other team at the end of the game.
They called the game (due to the weather) before Ian got to bat a second time, and he was not happy about it.  Coach Jim told him that he would get to bat first at the next game, and was true to his word. Great first game!

Ian's 5!!

How is it even possible that 5 years have already gone by??  I took the day off from work, and we had so much fun spending the day together doing activities that Ian chose.
I put balloons all over his floor and streamers across his bedroom door as a fun morning surprise.
Enjoying a cinnamon roll with birthday sprinkles. :)
Striking a Spider Man pose before heading to JumpStreet.
JumpStreet is a huge trampoline park, and Ian had such a fun time running, jumping, and watching other kids do tricks.  We only stayed for 2 hours, and both of us were worn out by the time we left!

Exhausted!
After lunch at Chick-fil-A and a good nap, he was ready to open some presents.

His big present was a new playground for the backyard.  He was a little confused as to how all of that wood in our garage was going to turn into a fun swing set.

Happy 5th Birthday!!
