Dallas Send-Off

This past weekend, we went to Dallas to send Phil off for 3 months of training in Texas, South Carolina, and Georgia. After that training, he will be headed to Iraq for 10 months. There was a nice ceremony held at Texas Stadium (at 2 in the afternoon on a day that was about 100 degrees with 100% humidity); Ian slept through the entire ceremony in his stroller despite all of the music and cheering. He was a trooper this weekend with the traveling, heat, and different routine than he is used to. The morning that we left, Ian and Daddy enjoyed some snuggle time in bed. It's sad to think about how many of Ian's firsts Phil will miss, but we know that what he is doing will provide Ian with a safer world to live in. We'll just take it one day at a time and keep Phil and all of the soldiers and their families in our prayers. We are so very proud of our Sgt Thomas!
